This week, we’re continuing last week’s study on the woman of God. In this study, we’ll look at various references to women from Psalms and Proverbs and extract the general lesson for us Christian women. Let us continue.
Women are to be joyful, sources of joy, and joyful mothers.
A godly woman does not flatter, seduce, or attempt to draw another away from what is right.
A godly woman is stable. She is a faithful friend and steady companion.
A godly woman is quiet and submissive; meek (not weak). She is content with what is in her own home.
A godly woman is wise, knowledgeable, hardworking, and teachable. She exhorts and instructs those around her in the ways of God. She is not foolish, doesn’t play dumb or avoid learning.
A godly woman is gracious and honorable. She is discreet.
Women are to be virtuous and bring honor to their husbands and families, not shame.
A godly woman builds up those around her with wisdom and encouragement. She does not slander, gossip, or tear others down.
A godly woman does not fight or argue. She is not angry and does not complain.
A godly woman recognizes when she has done wrong and addresses it.
A godly woman is virtuous, trustworthy, loving, and kind. She is willing to work and gets the best she can for her household. She is not lazy and doesn’t rest when there is work to do. She remembers those in need. She is strong. She is a light to those around her. She does things of quality. She brings honor to herself and her husband. She fears God. She is praiseworthy.
We have one more part left, where we will go over the New Testament references to women, then we will sum up and conclude our study.
